A Day With A Creative Mind: Okuhle Ramokolo a.k.a OG JEWNO

Hello everybody.
So like a month ago I received an inbox from Vukile Lloyd Ngceza (I hope its okay with him that I mentioned his name), asking me if I'll be doing any man's edition on my blog anytime soon. At that point I wasn't really interested in doing it (just don't think males are that glamorous lol, just kidding, or not), so I decided to give it a try. I then asked on my status who wants to be blogged about and I had a bunch of emails flying in and I had to choose one person at random. That's how I chose Okuhle Ramokolo a.k.a OG JEWNO.

OG JEWNO is his stage name, as he is an aspiring rapper. Simply describing this young man as a "rapper" seems to be an underestimation, as I view him more as a creative mind. Besides his rapping career, he's also an artist, be it painting or fashion.
So I had spoken to him (not personally) about us doing the feature and we set the day, which we then met up on a Saturday afternoon. As I approach him and his friend, who had accompanied him, the first thing that strikes me are his Jordans. Well after spending a few minutes with him you can surely pick up his obsession with Jordans. He'll probably feel like killing me for not even mentioning which edition or version or whatever number of Jordans he has...oops well I don't know lol.
I had intended to make a video of his profile but unfortunately I had copied that finished video to a friend's laptop and deleted the one on my camera and basically now I can't get the video, but in any case there's a part whereby he talks about his rapping career and he mentions how he doesn't feel like his music is ready to be heard by the masses, but yet again I don’t think there’s any artist of any value who doesn’t doubt what they’re doing.
If I would be asked to compare OG JEWNO to an artist I'd obviously go with AKA, not because he's on that level of rap yet but it's just the way he comes across, there's a lot of confidence and a hint (or more) of ego when he converses with me, but have to say I like that, and also because when he talks he's such a creative mind to an extent that you literally don't understand half the things he's saying at some points (or is that Mr West haha). One thing I adored about him though is how he literally does not like wasting time and takes charge, because I went to meet up with him not knowing what direction the blog post nor the video were going to take, in which with ease he kind of directed the whole thing.

Now since I'm the worst interviewer ever I forgot to ask him questions on the same day (you can't blame me, it happens when you're surrounded by two handsome funny guys, I know right), therefore I conducted a mini interview on facebook, which went as follows:

Tabela: Where do you hail from?
Okuhle Ramokolo: born in grahamstown, officially moved to midrand gauteng in 2010
T: Are you willing to take this rap thing as career, or will it remain a side hobby?
O: It will be a career with self-marketing thanks to my course (He's a marketing student by the way)
T: Who is or are your inspiration(s) when it comes to fashion and rap?
O: Wale and Lupe fiasco oh and Christiano Ronaldo
T: What is your fashion item must have
O: That's a tough one-classic, sports championship upper wear
T: What do you find irresistible in a girl (LOL no I wasn't asking for myself here, or was I? no one knows...haha jk)
O: Her confidence (it also makes me feel confident if im not)
T: What do you do in your spare time
O: Art takes up my spare time
T: What is your favourite item in your wardrobe
O: My 1995 S.A rugby world cup rugby sweater
T: Describe your relationship with your mother
O: My mom and I, we stay beefing but I've learned that I've grown cause we bond more than we argue-we share the art talent, she sings and I rap,we both paint and also trendy
T: One fact about yourself...
O: One fact...I am the African picasso of the 90's-people just dont know it yet.

I remember after I read the last point all I thought was "DEEP". When you're around this dude there's this whole positive and creative energy he just rubs off on you. So yea I was quite disappointed that I couldn't post the video but you can cyber stalk him yourselves on: @OGJEWNO for twitter and like his page OG JEWNO on Facebook. Special thanks to his friend for snapping the below pictures.

Well one thing I want to communicate to such a young and ambitious soul, OG believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.

Till Next time... ♥

Outfit Of The Day and Stealing Bonang Matheba's Look

Happy Sunday everybody.
Today is kind of a stressful day as it marks three days till I write Quantitative Techniques, which will be my last exam, what's really stressing me out is just how much I know nothing about it. But let's not dwell on the negatives and focus on how beautiful Cape Town's weather is today, not minding the wind that is.
So I had to attend classes today, yes on a Sunday, and was actually clueless on what to wear which then I decided on a pair of leggings I had bought online from Mr. Price last year. Now for those who know me personally know that I have this major obsession with Bonang Matheba, I actually know all of the outfits she's donned to red carpet events and the outfits she wears everyday, you all probably asking how I know that whereas I do not even have an instagram, weeeeeeeell I kind of google "Bonang Matheba Instagram" on a daily basis and I follow her page on facebook. Anyway, so after I picked the leggings out of my closet I then realised that B* actually has an identical pair of leggings. After I spazzed out (getting too excited to an extent you have to take deep breaths to calm down), I then decided to kind of, I repeat myself, kind of, tried to copy her look.
So below is the queen of perfection

Then there's me, thing is I wasn't trying to get an identical, but a similar look. Do excuse the jacket that made a cameo appearance lol.
I wore:
Leather jacket: Mosko @ Traffic
T-shirt: Mosko @ Traffic
Leggings: Mr. Price
Converse: Sportscene
I then braided my weave as it was too windy outside and I seriously hate when my hair blows on my face.
I then lightly accessorised with crucifix earrings which I bought in Century City, literally forgot the store...Oops sorry. If anyone knows, let everyone else know please haha.
Even though I love my nails and painting my nails, I literally cannot paint my nails to save my life as you can actually see in the picture below. I used essence nail polish in red and black to create this look.
So honeys I would actually love it if you all shared who your style icon is.
Oh and I forgot to add that I actually have a pair of cute shoes that I bought last year from Edgars, which I saw Bonang wearing in one of her B*Dazzled episodes, maybe I'll make a blog post about that some other time. Haha I adore her okay don't judge.
Well on that note, have blessed Sunday everybody... Till next time ♥

My day, My hair and Outfit of The Day

Hello everybody, so today I just decided to share my day with you all. I think since I did a similar post yesterday, this will be kind of  the last "My Day" post I do in a while. So today was the last day of attending classes, as we have to prepare for the exams now, with that being said I am sure you all can pick up that nothing of significance happened. Today's weather was horrible, as it was raining and I just do not like rain in summer at all since I never know what to wear and I just don't like putting on too much clothing.

♥
So since today I knew that I wasn't going to be bumping into many people I really neglected my hair and make-up, but my Indian weave never ceases to disappoint as it obeyed and didn't really reflect how lazy master was this morning.
For my outfit I went for this pink top which is easily my favourite as it does not require me to wear a bra (don't judge) I really just don't like bras. I then opted for my torn jeans and my brown leather boots, which is always a combination that never fails me and to tie this outfit together I wore my denim crop jacket. In case you're worried that I went out like this, I actually also had a navy leather jacket on which I don't even know why I didn't take a picture wearing it.
Top: Mr. Price Boots: Woolworths

Below I was going to post a picture of what I used to achieve the perfect catseye (read on to see why I didn't), and you will never see me with unpainted nails, cause I have this obsession with "essence" nail polishes. I decided to only paint my tips in turquoise and my ring finger in red...LOVE IT. I was seriously going to post a picture of my nail vanish from essence and my liquid eyeliner also from essence but left the pictures on my friends laptop which  I used to start this post. Please accept my apologies. Fortunately for everyone I will be posting that tomorrow. Anyway this is just a lazy post to update you lovlies... Till next time ♥

My day: Outfit, Nerves, Library Goodluck wishes and The presentation

This is a fairly long post if you're not into reading then my sincere apologies :). So to those who are friends with me on Facebook may have stumbled across a status I wrote last night about having to prepare for a presentation for today. Usually feeling nervous before a presentation is not my thing but this time around my stomach was in knots. So I woke up and decided not have any breakfast (Which was not a good decision) but instead just drink hot water with lemon slices as I usually do in the mornings (note: I am not doing this to lose weight as many people may think, but for my skin). Now a mistake I did was sleeping late and so I woke up drained and had to rush to campus so I just pulled out the first items that were peeping from my wardrobe, I went for these pants (don't know what colour they are LOL) this cute white shirt, a pair of black Chuck Taylors and I am not proud to say that I didn't put ANY effort on the hair *cringes*.

So on my way to the library to prepare (yes even more, I'm a perfectionist okay) I "kinda sorta maybe" bumped into someone, no not my boyfriend (cause I don't have one) and we started chatting, I have to say the conversation just came naturally which is rare in my case when someone makes me nervous, so he wished me goodluck, which I guess instead of calming me down it just gave me flutterbies (the cartoon way of saying butterflies, forgive me haha), but I won't be getting into detail about this guy as he may just stumble upon this post and think that I'm a creep, therefore topic sealed.

 ♥
So going back to the topic of my outfit, I don't usually accessorise but today I donned a couple of rings, I think this has been my latest obsession actually. I just love how "girly gangster" it looks when you wear multiple rings at once, what do you guys think? YAY or NAY? The rings are in silver and I got them from Mr. Price for about R3O.OO and they came in a packet of about 8 or 10. Bless them.

So this was rather a long post and if you have read this far then I am thankful. So of course as you have read there was nothing interesting about my day but this was to share more about my day before the presentation. By the way this was a Marketing presentation, so after I shaked, shivered and sweated my lecturer said "Well done, you're about the only student who wasn't reading from your notes. Fairly interesting presentation" (Well this was before the exchange students presented). Kind of expected my lecturer to say "OMG Tabela you're so fabulous, guuuuuuurl, you did yo thang and you deserve 1OO%", or am I pushing it haha. Just to show how long the presentation was below is the file I kept all of the notes.

So this was my day how was yours? Do share!
Till next time ♥
