New Hair Colour: Caramel Blonde

Well this isn't a real post but more of an update. I changed my hair colour y'all... But this is not the final product as I am yet to get my hair permed (Momma is gonna be so proud lol).

So I took out the weave cause my scalp is really damaged as all year round I haven't gone a day with my natural hair and I was really neglecting my scalp, therefore I've decided to give my hair and scalp a breathing break. Mind you, I actually dyed the hair myself, just didn't feel like paying a lot of money for something so simple, I used Inecto hair dye in caramel blonde.

I said bye bye to the weave :(, lol just took a random pic here forgive.

Just me damaging my hair with dye. kthnxbye

This is after I cut my hair and before I hair dried it

This is the final colour, I'm pleased with it though. Just look how brittle my hair looks.

Woke up today and my hair had taken this really ugly form, I just, I can't

I really have to have this hair permed, I actually hate how it currently looks :(
Ugh, can't wait to get this ugly do permed. As I said at the beginning of the post this is not real post.
Till Next Time ♥

A Day With A Creative Mind: Okuhle Ramokolo a.k.a OG JEWNO

Hello everybody.
So like a month ago I received an inbox from Vukile Lloyd Ngceza (I hope its okay with him that I mentioned his name), asking me if I'll be doing any man's edition on my blog anytime soon. At that point I wasn't really interested in doing it (just don't think males are that glamorous lol, just kidding, or not), so I decided to give it a try. I then asked on my status who wants to be blogged about and I had a bunch of emails flying in and I had to choose one person at random. That's how I chose Okuhle Ramokolo a.k.a OG JEWNO.

OG JEWNO is his stage name, as he is an aspiring rapper. Simply describing this young man as a "rapper" seems to be an underestimation, as I view him more as a creative mind. Besides his rapping career, he's also an artist, be it painting or fashion.
So I had spoken to him (not personally) about us doing the feature and we set the day, which we then met up on a Saturday afternoon. As I approach him and his friend, who had accompanied him, the first thing that strikes me are his Jordans. Well after spending a few minutes with him you can surely pick up his obsession with Jordans. He'll probably feel like killing me for not even mentioning which edition or version or whatever number of Jordans he has...oops well I don't know lol.
I had intended to make a video of his profile but unfortunately I had copied that finished video to a friend's laptop and deleted the one on my camera and basically now I can't get the video, but in any case there's a part whereby he talks about his rapping career and he mentions how he doesn't feel like his music is ready to be heard by the masses, but yet again I don’t think there’s any artist of any value who doesn’t doubt what they’re doing.
If I would be asked to compare OG JEWNO to an artist I'd obviously go with AKA, not because he's on that level of rap yet but it's just the way he comes across, there's a lot of confidence and a hint (or more) of ego when he converses with me, but have to say I like that, and also because when he talks he's such a creative mind to an extent that you literally don't understand half the things he's saying at some points (or is that Mr West haha). One thing I adored about him though is how he literally does not like wasting time and takes charge, because I went to meet up with him not knowing what direction the blog post nor the video were going to take, in which with ease he kind of directed the whole thing.

Now since I'm the worst interviewer ever I forgot to ask him questions on the same day (you can't blame me, it happens when you're surrounded by two handsome funny guys, I know right), therefore I conducted a mini interview on facebook, which went as follows:

Tabela: Where do you hail from?
Okuhle Ramokolo: born in grahamstown, officially moved to midrand gauteng in 2010
T: Are you willing to take this rap thing as career, or will it remain a side hobby?
O: It will be a career with self-marketing thanks to my course (He's a marketing student by the way)
T: Who is or are your inspiration(s) when it comes to fashion and rap?
O: Wale and Lupe fiasco oh and Christiano Ronaldo
T: What is your fashion item must have
O: That's a tough one-classic, sports championship upper wear
T: What do you find irresistible in a girl (LOL no I wasn't asking for myself here, or was I? no one knows...haha jk)
O: Her confidence (it also makes me feel confident if im not)
T: What do you do in your spare time
O: Art takes up my spare time
T: What is your favourite item in your wardrobe
O: My 1995 S.A rugby world cup rugby sweater
T: Describe your relationship with your mother
O: My mom and I, we stay beefing but I've learned that I've grown cause we bond more than we argue-we share the art talent, she sings and I rap,we both paint and also trendy
T: One fact about yourself...
O: One fact...I am the African picasso of the 90's-people just dont know it yet.

I remember after I read the last point all I thought was "DEEP". When you're around this dude there's this whole positive and creative energy he just rubs off on you. So yea I was quite disappointed that I couldn't post the video but you can cyber stalk him yourselves on: @OGJEWNO for twitter and like his page OG JEWNO on Facebook. Special thanks to his friend for snapping the below pictures.

Well one thing I want to communicate to such a young and ambitious soul, OG believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.

Till Next time... ♥

Outfit Of The Day and Stealing Bonang Matheba's Look

Happy Sunday everybody.
Today is kind of a stressful day as it marks three days till I write Quantitative Techniques, which will be my last exam, what's really stressing me out is just how much I know nothing about it. But let's not dwell on the negatives and focus on how beautiful Cape Town's weather is today, not minding the wind that is.
So I had to attend classes today, yes on a Sunday, and was actually clueless on what to wear which then I decided on a pair of leggings I had bought online from Mr. Price last year. Now for those who know me personally know that I have this major obsession with Bonang Matheba, I actually know all of the outfits she's donned to red carpet events and the outfits she wears everyday, you all probably asking how I know that whereas I do not even have an instagram, weeeeeeeell I kind of google "Bonang Matheba Instagram" on a daily basis and I follow her page on facebook. Anyway, so after I picked the leggings out of my closet I then realised that B* actually has an identical pair of leggings. After I spazzed out (getting too excited to an extent you have to take deep breaths to calm down), I then decided to kind of, I repeat myself, kind of, tried to copy her look.
So below is the queen of perfection

Then there's me, thing is I wasn't trying to get an identical, but a similar look. Do excuse the jacket that made a cameo appearance lol.
I wore:
Leather jacket: Mosko @ Traffic
T-shirt: Mosko @ Traffic
Leggings: Mr. Price
Converse: Sportscene
I then braided my weave as it was too windy outside and I seriously hate when my hair blows on my face.
I then lightly accessorised with crucifix earrings which I bought in Century City, literally forgot the store...Oops sorry. If anyone knows, let everyone else know please haha.
Even though I love my nails and painting my nails, I literally cannot paint my nails to save my life as you can actually see in the picture below. I used essence nail polish in red and black to create this look.
So honeys I would actually love it if you all shared who your style icon is.
Oh and I forgot to add that I actually have a pair of cute shoes that I bought last year from Edgars, which I saw Bonang wearing in one of her B*Dazzled episodes, maybe I'll make a blog post about that some other time. Haha I adore her okay don't judge.
Well on that note, have blessed Sunday everybody... Till next time ♥

Beach Day + Chasing The Sunset

Hello everybody.
Y'all know it's now summer, and Cape Town has been pretty windy and that's why I took advantage of yesterday's hot weather and went straight to the beach to catch the sunset and chill, as I do not like going to the beach while it's still hot I only went there when the sun was setting. I wore a full bathing suit as I had not brought my bikini with, and just to keep covered I put on a white thingy (lol don't even know what's it's called), just look at the picture haha, and of course I never leave my high waisted shorts behind.

Now honeys remember whenever you're going to be exposed to the sun the whole day, wear sunscreen. I use the Clicks one in SPF50 lol I know it's a bit too extreme, but I like being protected. So since I wasn't there with you lovies, here are pictures of the sunset so you can just imagine how it would have been if you were there with me.

So after a beautiful and peaceful day, I just had to go get food so I headed off to woolworths. But have to admit I then later also went to Barcelos, haha swimming does this to you okay. Oh by the way if you're wondering which beach this is, it's Sea Point.

So I'd like it if you all shared your beach experiences...
Till Next Time ♥

My New Hairdo plus Curling Your Weave

Hello everybody.
So I recently had a new weave, weaved into my head lol. I'm not exactly sure if I like it but I guess I gotta flaunt it regardless. So today, unlike other days, I actually gave my hair attention and I curled it. It took me like an hour to get the whole head curled, that's surely something I wont be doing again.

But all in all, I wont lie the curls came out looking "smashing". In order not to damage the weave I used silicone and set the hair straightener to 150°C (I use a Toni & Guy hair straightener, and the temperature is adjustable)

After the styling I actually didn't use any holding spray or whatever you use on curls, but oddly the curls lasted the whole day. Sadly today it was very windy so I had to hold my natural hair with a bandanna so it doesn't blow on my face, can't afford getting hair oil all over my forehead.
Guess what? Mommy actually gave me this "weed" bandanna, such a cool momma she is. So this was my first time experimenting with curls, what do you guys think? YAY or NAY?
Till next time ♥

Did I Just Go Preppy?

Soooo it's been a while since I posted. Thing is I've been busy editing the post and video I did with Okuhle, but since that's taking me longer than expected, I just wanted to let you guys know what's happening and why I've been quiet. Plus with the exams and all in the way, I will only be able to post once or twice a week.
So I went all preppy in the above picture, this is just to inspire you all if you're thinking of the college preppy look, remember to stick to colours that compliment your skin tone. Plus the shirt is all gold and peach, so a pink sweater was the obvious choice for a throw. Hope to see a "few lot" dressed like this :). But keep in mind it's for the a bit coldish days.
Good luck with the exams... Till next time ♥

Exams, Lazy Headbands and My Ugly "Just Woke Up" Face

Today marks the first day of my final exams, in about a months time I'll be a 3rd year Marketing student. So I was supposed to post a blog post that I promised everyone, about a creative mind that I had a photoshoot with Saturday, but since I want it to be perfect I've been working on it and therefore I will only post it when I feel it's worth gold. Since I did not want to abandon you all, I decided why not update everyone on what is going on in my life, which is nothing, but exams. Today I started with a "Consumer Behaviour" exam, which was okay. wouldn't say "great" because only started studying the night before (not advised).
Today I was feeling lazy (nothing new there) so I just put on this red dress which I tucked into my high waisted shorts, and since I gained a few pounds I kind of like covering up my behind, which is why I put this shirt around my waist, and it actually didn't look bad at all. As for the grey headband, I was just too lazy to properly comb my hair. You can get the headband for only R50.00 at Woolworths.

So since I did not sleep last night studying for today's exam, I'm pretty exhausted. So I just wanted to update everyone that I'm still alive and wish everyone else goodluck for the finals.
I feel like I am cheating everyone with this post as it really is the laziest post I've actually put up and for that I am going to post an ugly pic I just took for your amusement, forgive the smudged eyeliner just woke up haha.

Well have your laughs :D
Till next time ♥
